Petrol, Diesel, CNG Price: The common public is feeling the impact of inflation quite severely. As per reports from fuel dealers in Delhi, there has been a rise in petrol and diesel prices nationwide, including in the national capital. In this latest adjustment, petrol prices have gone up by 0.87 paise per liter, while diesel prices have increased by 0.91 paise per liter.
Price hike for the third time in a month
This marks the third increase in fuel prices this month. Earlier this week, there was a rise of 90 paise per liter for both petrol and diesel, following a previous increase of Rs 3 per liter just a few days prior. With this latest hike, there is a chance that freight charges will also rise, which could lead to an increase in the prices of essential goods in the near future.
Fluctuations in crude oil prices
According to dealers, this decision was made in response to fluctuations in crude oil prices on the international market and the rising costs faced by oil companies. The new prices took effect at 6 a.m. today. It’s important to note that fuel prices may differ from one state to another due to local VAT and freight charges.
In the midst of the West Asia crisis, India is facing yet another surge in inflation. Following the increases in petrol and diesel prices, CNG has also seen a rise in cost. On May 23rd, the prices of petrol and diesel were raised first, and shortly after, CNG prices followed suit. Specifically, today, Saturday, the cost of CNG has gone up by Rs 1 per kg. Just yesterday, on May 22nd, CNG was priced at 80.09 paise, but it has now risen to 81.09 paise. Over the past 8 days, CNG prices have increased by Rs 4 per kg.
Indeed, fuel prices have once again surged across the nation. In the most recent adjustment, petrol prices have risen by 87 paise per liter, while diesel prices have gone up by 91 paise per liter. Additionally, CNG prices have also seen an increase of 1 rupee per kg. Yesterday, CNG was priced at 80.09 rupees per kg, and it has now climbed to 81.09 rupees per kg.
This marks the third increase in fuel prices within the last 10 days. Previously, on May 15th, there was a significant hike in petrol and diesel prices by around 3 rupees per liter. Then, on May 19th, prices were raised again by about 90 paise per liter. Consequently, petrol and diesel have become more expensive by approximately 25 rupees, while CNG has also increased by around 4 rupees. This series of price hikes has raised public concern.
When and how much has CNG become more expensive?
Before May 15, the price of CNG in Delhi was Rs 77.09 per kg. On May 15, IGL raised the price by Rs 2 per kg, bringing the cost in Delhi to Rs 79.09. On May 17, the price of CNG was increased by another Rs 1, resulting in a total increase of Rs 3 in just two days, making the price ₹80.09/kg. Today, May 23, the price has been raised by Rs 1 per kg, meaning CNG in Delhi now costs Rs 81.09 per kg.
