Noida International Airport: Preparations are in progress to restart flights from Noida International Airport to key cities throughout the nation. Once operations commence on June 15th, there are plans to link the financial hub of the country, Mumbai, with Kashmir, a popular tourist spot.

Ticket sales from Noida Airport are anticipated to start on Thursday. Bookings will be available online through the platform. On the inaugural day, two IndiGo flights are scheduled to depart from the airport runway.

Rakesh Kumar Singh, the CEO of Noida International Airport Limited, mentioned that ticket sales for scheduled flights from Noida Airport will kick off on Thursday. Flights to various destinations across the country will also be organized from the airport.

IndiGo has declared the resumption of passenger services

IndiGo has revealed the initiation of passenger services from the airport. The specific dates and flight schedules for both passenger and cargo services from Akasa and Air India Express will be announced shortly. This will allow travelers from Delhi NCR to start flying to major cities nationwide, including Navi Mumbai, Kashmir, Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Goa. There is a lot of excitement among the people.

The public has been looking forward to the return of air services ever since the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security approved the airport’s security program. This anticipation will come to an end with IndiGo’s flight on June 15th. In the meantime, airlines and other organizations are actively working to finalize their arrangements for the resumption of passenger services from the airport.

Airport infrastructure and future plans

The first phase of the airport is being built on 1,334 hectares. It includes a 3,900-meter-long runway, a modern terminal building, an air traffic control tower, and a 30-acre cargo center. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it on March 28.

Officials believe that this airport will develop as a major aviation hub of the country in the coming time and it will also open new opportunities for business, tourism and employment.

When did construction begin?

The foundation stone of Noida International Airport was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 November 2021. Since then, work has been progressing on a war footing and is now ready for commercial operations in 2026.

What is the capacity and what are the future plans?

Initial Capacity: In the first phase, the airport will be able to handle 12 million passengers annually.

Eventual Capacity: Upon completion of all its phases by 2040-50, it will have the capacity to serve 7 crore passengers annually.

Runway: Currently one runway is ready, but in future there are plans to build a total of 6 runways, which will make it the first such airport in India.

With the opening of Noida International Airport, not only will the people of Delhi-NCR get relief from the traffic of IGI Airport, but business and tourism in Western Uttar Pradesh will also reach new heights.
