New Aadhaar App Launched, Now You Can Store Your Entire Family’s Aadhaar Cards on a Single Phone

Aadhaar App Update: To further strengthen and secure digital identity in India, UIDAI has introduced a new Aadhaar app. This app is considered an upgraded and more secure version of the old mAadhaar app. It has been designed to provide easy and secure access to Aadhaar-related services on mobile phones for the general public.

This app is available on both Android and iOS platforms. Its most significant feature is that Aadhaar profiles for multiple family members can now be managed on a single mobile phone. This will be especially convenient for the elderly, children, and those with limited technology.

Aadhaar Card-Related Tasks Can Be Done Using a Single App

With the new Aadhaar app, users can link the profiles of up to five family members to their Aadhaar. This means that one family member can now store the entire family’s Aadhaar cards digitally on their phone.

This feature is intended to help those who cannot operate a smartphone. Any responsible family member can manage everyone’s Aadhaar-related tasks through a single app.

No risk of document loss or misuse

The need to carry physical Aadhaar cards to many locations may be reduced. Proving digital identity through the QR code in the new app will be possible.

Users can show their digital ID directly from the app during travel, hotel check-in, or other identification-related tasks. This also reduces the risk of document loss or misuse.

Every profile will be locked

The new Aadhaar app has a strong focus on security. Each profile can be protected with a password or biometric lock.

If the user wishes, they can lock any profile to prevent misuse. In many cases, face authentication can also be used, further strengthening the security level.

Easy process of adding a new profile to the app

Adding a profile in the new Aadhaar app has been simplified. After opening the app, the user simply selects the “Add Profile” option and then enters the 12-digit Aadhaar number of the person in question.

An OTP is then sent to the registered mobile number, completing the verification. In some cases, face authentication may also be required. Once the verification is complete, the new profile is added to the app.

Keep these things in mind when using the app

A maximum of five family members’ profiles can be added to this app. To receive the OTP, the person’s mobile number must be linked to Aadhaar.

When adding a profile, the name and date of birth must be the same as those on the Aadhaar card; otherwise, verification may be difficult.
