Are you a trader or restaurant owner? Why did the price of a commercial LPG cylinder increase by up to ₹16 from October 1st? Learn about the new prices of 19 kg cylinders in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, and why this is the first increase after four consecutive reductions. Read the full details in Hindi here to learn why the domestic cylinder price relief remains.

Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Increase Ahead of the Festive Season

Just before the festive season, ordinary people and traders have suffered a major setback. Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have increased the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹15 to ₹16, effective October 1st, 2025. The new prices have come into effect in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, while the price of a 14.2 kg domestic cylinder remains unchanged. This increase will directly impact hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that use commercial cylinders.

New 19 KG Cylinder Prices in Four Major Metros

Following the revision in the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, the new rates have now become effective in major metros:

In Delhi, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased from ₹1,580 to ₹1,595.50.

In Mumbai, the price has increased from ₹1,531 to ₹1,547.

In Kolkata, the new price has increased from ₹1,684 to ₹1,700.

In Chennai, the 19 kg cylinder will now be available for ₹1,754, compared to ₹1,738 in September.

This is the first increase after a series of price cuts

This price increase is interesting because companies recently cut commercial LPG cylinder prices four times in a row. On September 1st, the 19-kilogram cylinder was reduced by ₹51.50. Oil companies also cut prices by ₹41 in April. Between April and July 2025, commercial cylinder prices fell significantly by ₹138 in Delhi, ₹144 in Kolkata, ₹139 in Mumbai, and ₹141.50 in Chennai. Against this backdrop, this small increase ahead of festive demand is a cause for concern for the market.

Consumers continue to receive relief on domestic cylinder prices

However, consumers are currently relieved of domestic cylinder prices. The price of a 14.2-kilogram non-subsidized LPG cylinder has remained unchanged since April 2025. Currently, its price remains at ₹853 in Delhi, ₹852.50 in Mumbai, ₹868.50 in Chennai, and ₹879 in Kolkata. This stability will not put any additional burden on the average consumer.

Meanwhile, jet fuel prices have also increased. ATF (Aviation Turbine Fuel) prices have risen by ₹3,052.50 to ₹93,766 per kilolitre, which could make air travel more expensive. Overall, this increase will impact hotels and small businesses, but the average consumer is currently safe due to stable prices on domestic cylinders.
