New Delhi: Amidst the rapid pace of changing times, advancements in technology have brought about immense convenience. Nowadays, certain tasks have become so streamlined that one no longer needs to go through any hassle to complete them. Times have advanced to such an extent that even booking a gas cylinder can now be done directly via a mobile phone, eliminating the need to stand in long queues.

Previously, booking a gas cylinder required standing in long lines; however, that is no longer the case. Did you know that the government’s ‘UMANG’ app has now made this entire process even simpler and more digital? You no longer need to go anywhere physically to book an LPG cylinder. You can book a cylinder directly from your smartphone in just a few minutes—and even complete the payment process right there.

Learn How UMANG Works

It is important to note that UMANG—which stands for ‘Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance’—is a government-developed app. It serves as a single platform offering access to over 1,500 government services. Among these, the facility to book gas cylinders is considered one of the most popular services available.

Whether you are a customer of Bharat Gas, Indane, or HP Gas, this app works seamlessly for all major service providers. It offers you not only the facility to book a cylinder but also allows you to easily check your past booking history and the status of your subsidy.

A Step-by-Step Guide to the Process

Booking a gas cylinder via the UMANG app is a very simple process. First, you will need to download the UMANG app from either the Google Play Store (for Android) or the App Store (for iOS).

Once the app is downloaded, you will need to register using your mobile number and a One-Time Password (OTP).

After logging in, type ‘Gas Booking’ into the search bar or select the ‘Refill’ option.

Next, you will need to select your specific gas provider (such as HP, Indane, or Bharat Gas).

Then, enter your Consumer ID or your registered mobile number.

Once you have entered these details, the booking option will appear on your screen; simply click on it to successfully book your gas cylinder.
