Indian Railways: Major setback for railway passengers. Some services of the Delhi PRS (Passenger Reservation System) will be impacted for two days. It will be temporarily closed starting at midnight on the 14th and 15th of March 2026. During this period, you won’t be able to book tickets, cancel tickets, or make any ticket-related inquiries. Additionally, checking PNR status, current reservations, and online bookings for trains departing from Delhi will not be possible.

Ticket booking, cancellations, and PNR inquiry services will be unavailable on the night of March 14th-15th, 2026, due to maintenance work on the Delhi Passenger Reservation System (PRS). This maintenance is scheduled for the night of Saturday and Sunday (14th-15th March). During this time, some issues may arise during the nights.

How long will the services be unavailable?

The Northern Railway has announced that the Delhi PRS services will be down for about three hours. This shutdown is necessary to enhance system efficiency and performance. During this downtime, the 139 PNR inquiry service, EDR (Electronic Data Record), Delhi PRS services, and online ticket booking or cancellation services will not be accessible. The PRS system enables passengers to book tickets from anywhere across the country, eliminating the need to wait in long lines. Thus, this temporary shutdown aims to further enhance passenger convenience.
