How to Download e-Aadhaar Using Name and Date of Birth from Home? Know the Complete Process

In the digital age, identity documents are increasingly moving online, and e-Aadhaar is a prime example of this shift. Issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India, e-Aadhaar is a digital version of the Aadhaar card that can be stored on a mobile phone, laptop, or tablet. This digital document is valid as proof of identity for many government and private services.

What is e-Aadhaar?

e-Aadhaar is a digital PDF copy of the original Aadhaar card. It contains the individual’s name, address, date of birth, photo, Aadhaar number, and a secure QR code. This QR code helps with instant identity verification. Despite being digital, e-Aadhaar is considered as valid as a physical Aadhaar card. It can be used for services such as banking, SIM card verification, ticket booking, and KYC.

Additionally, e-Aadhaar can be used for banking, KYC verification, mobile SIM activation, identity proofing under government schemes, and many other digital services. Keeping digital documents saves time and reduces the risk of document loss. E-Aadhaar can be downloaded at any time and used immediately when needed. How to Download e-Aadhaar by Name and Date of Birth

1. To download e-Aadhaar, first visit the UIDAI official portal https://uidai.gov.in/.
2. Select the ‘My Aadhaar’ option on the home page.
3. Select the ‘Retrieve Lost or Forgotten EID/UID’ option.
4. You will then be redirected to https://resident.uidai.gov.in/lost-uideid.
5. Select your Aadhaar number on the page.
6. Enter your full name, registered email ID or mobile number, and the captcha code.
7. Click on ‘Send OTP’. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
8. Now enter the OTP received on your mobile number and click Login.
9. A pop-up will appear on your screen informing you that your Aadhaar number has been sent to your registered mobile number.
10. After receiving your Aadhaar enrollment number, visit the official UIDAI website, uidai.gov.in.
11. Select the ‘My Aadhaar’ option and select ‘Download Aadhaar’ from the drop-down menu.
12. A new page will open, where you click on the ‘I have Aadhaar’ option.
13. Enter your Aadhaar enrollment number, full name, and captcha.
14. Click on the ‘Send OTP’ option (an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number).
15. Enter and verify the OTP and click on the ‘Download Aadhaar’ option to download your Aadhaar.
16. A PDF file will then download.

The e-Aadhaar PDF file is password-protected. The password is a combination of your name and year of birth. Typically, the password is created by adding the first four letters of your name in capital letters and the year of birth. This security is maintained to ensure your personal information is protected, and no one else can open the document.

For example, if your name is Rohit Pal and your date of birth is 1994, then your password would be ROHI1994.

Points to keep in mind when using e-Aadhaar

E-Aadhaar should only be downloaded from the official website. It is important to save the file in a secure location. Do not share the OTP or Aadhaar information with anyone.
