On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver surged by over ₹7,500 per kilogram in a sudden move, while gold futures prices also saw a sharp rise. Despite this rally, the price of 1 kg of silver remains ₹2.05 lakh lower than its all-time high.

In early trading on the MCX, silver rose by ₹7,700, while gold witnessed a jump of over ₹2,400. Silver contracts for July 3rd delivery closed at ₹2,44,316 per kilogram in the previous session and opened today at ₹2,49,316 per kilogram.

What is the Gold Rate?
A rise in gold rates has also been observed on the MCX. On the previous trading day, Tuesday, the futures price for 10 grams of 24-karat gold closed at ₹149,753; however, as trading opened in the commodities market on Wednesday, it surged to reach ₹152,182.

Gold remains significantly cheaper than its all-time high. In January, gold touched a high of ₹202,984 per 10 grams on the MCX, and following this milestone, prices subsequently declined sharply. Currently, when compared with the latest prevailing rates, gold is available at a discount of ₹50,802.
