New Delhi: The Central Government has officially approved the interest rates for the financial years 2025 and 2026; however, a question now lingers in the minds of PF subscribers: when will the interest amount actually be credited to their accounts? This time around, the government has not made any changes to the interest rates.

This means that PF subscribers will continue to receive an interest rate of 8.25 per cent, which is expected to yield substantial benefits. It is anticipated that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) may transfer the interest amount to subscribers’ accounts during the first week of June. This benefit is set to reach over 75 million employees. However, no official announcement regarding the exact date of the interest transfer has been made yet.

How much money will be credited to the account?

The question of exactly how much interest will be credited to individual PF accounts remains a significant one. An interest rate of 8.25 per cent has been declared for the financial years 2025 and 2026.

If your PF account holds a balance of up to ₹6 lakh, approximately ₹50,000 could be credited as interest. Conversely, if an employee’s PF account holds a balance of ₹5 lakh, an amount of approximately ₹42,000 may be credited to the account as interest.

The interest amount will be calculated and credited based on the total accumulated fund in each account. Approximately 75 million PF subscribers stand to benefit from this. You can easily check exactly how much money has been credited to your PF account; there is absolutely no need to worry.
