New Delhi: Jan Aadhaar cardholders in Rajasthan have received significant news that is crucial for them to be aware of. Rajasthan’s Department of Planning has established new limits and fees for amendments and updates made to Jan Aadhaar records. According to a circular issued by the Rajasthan Jan Aadhaar Authority, residents will no longer be able to update their data an unlimited number of times at their own discretion—a measure intended to prevent potential complications.

The Rajasthan government’s new regulations will come into effect across the state starting June 1, 2026. Under these rules, the facility to update information will be accessible only within specific timeframes. A prescribed fee will be applicable for every amendment made. This initiative is expected to significantly enhance transparency within the system and curb fraudulent or repetitive modifications. Consequently, citizens will now need to exercise greater caution when updating their details.

Restrictions Imposed on Corrections Exceeding Two Attempts

According to the government’s new regulations, amendments to personal details—such as a father’s name, mother’s name, minority category status, marital status, and spouse’s name—will no longer be permitted more than twice. The first instance of availing this service will remain free of charge. However, for the second amendment, a fee of ₹15 per update will be applicable.

Corrections to details regarding education and income can be undertaken only twice within a single financial year. The first such correction will be free, while subsequent corrections will incur a fee of ₹25.

Furthermore, a limit of two changes per financial year has been set for modifications to bank account details. For the second such modification, a fee of ₹40 will be applicable. Meanwhile, for processes such as family division or changing the family head, a maximum limit of five attempts has been established.

Fees Applicable to E-Jan Aadhaar Services

For informational purposes, it should be noted that certain processes—such as new enrollments, adding a new family member, or removing a member’s name due to demise—will remain completely free of charge. Additionally, no fees or restrictions will apply to downloading the E-Jan Aadhaar card. The Authority has clarified that even if residents initiate these changes through their own SSO IDs, they are still strictly required to adhere to the prescribed fees and limits.
