Toyota Urban Cruiser: The demand for electric cars is constantly increasing in the Indian market. In view of this opportunity, Toyota is soon going to bring its Urban Cruiser Hybrid to a full electric incarnation. This electric SUV was showcased at the Auto Expo. Recently, a video is going viral on social media, in which the interior of the Urban Cruiser EV has been revealed.

The new Urban Cruiser EV is being developed in partnership with Toyota and Suzuki. The new Urban Cruiser EV is also based on the Maruti EVX platform According to the report, it will be launched in the domestic market by the end of 2025 this year.

Talking about the look of the electric SUV, the new design offers LED daytime running lights (DRLs), headlamps, alloy wheels and a revised rear profile. There is also a Toyota badge on the back.

In terms of features, the EV has a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.3-inch digital driver display on the dashboard. Apart from this, Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity features come with features like auto hold, drive mode, single-zone auto climate control, wireless phone charger, electronic parking brake.

There is also a powered driver’s seat adjuster, JBL audio system and a sunroof to make the EV’s interior cosy and premium. Not only that, the sliding and reclining function as well as 40:20:40 split-folding seats are provided.

Battery and range

The new Toyota Urban Cruiser EV can also be given battery packs along with the Maruti Electric Vitara. This electric SUV will come with a lithium-iron battery pack with a capacity of 49kWh and 61kWh. This powertrain will be capable of giving a range of about 500KM.

Security features

The electric car can get a 360-degree camera with 6-airbags, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and ADAS suite. Toyota is yet to confirm when the electric model of the Urban Cruiser will launch in the Indian market.

However, according to reports, this electric car will also be introduced after the launch of the Maruti e-Vitara. Toyota may launch this EV at a starting price of around Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
