Mahindra’s SUV sales: SUV buyers in India have fallen in love with the indigenous company Mahindra & Mahindra. In the first month of 2025, the indigenous company overtook Tata Motors on record SUV sales strength and also gave a tough fight to Hyundai. Mahindra’s achievement is a significant contributor to the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic as well as the XUV700, Thar, XUV3XO as well as the recently launched electric SUVs XEV9E and BE6. New vehicles created a stir in the electric segment

Mahindra introduced its new battery electric vehicle in January 2025 under brands like the XEV and BE, which are the XEV 9E and BE6. In the first month of launch, 1,837 units were shipped, signalling a strong move in Mahindra’s electric vehicle segment.

Mahindra’s SUV sales increase

Mahindra & Mahindra’s most popular SUV, the Scorpio series, sold the best in January. The Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic sold 15,442 units last month, representing an 8 percent year-on-year increase. Sales of the XUV 700 increased 17% year-on-year and received 8,399 subscribers. Sales of Thar and Thar Rocks also increased by 25 per cent to 7,557 customers. In all this, the XUV 3X has seen the highest annual growth in sales of 76 per cent and a total of 8,454 units of this compact SUV were sold last month.

Which cars have been sold?

The Mahindra Bolero, which is the most favourite in small towns and villages, saw a 13 per cent year-on-year decline in sales to a total of 8,682 units sold last month. Mahindra’s compact electric SUV, the XUV400, sold just 288 units last January and is down 59 per cent year-on-year.
