Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: Hyundai Motors has introduced its popular and lowest-priced hatchback Grand i10 Nios to the market with several important updates. The hatchback was once the best-selling model in its segment, but in recent years the Korean carmaker has lost interest in the smaller car segment. Therefore, the sales volume of the Grand i10 did not return.
Taking cognisance of the decline in sales and the popularity of hatchback cars, the Korean carmaker has introduced a new version of the Grand i10 Nios, placed above the corporate trim, available with both manual and automatic transmission options.
What is the price?
The manual version of the new Grand i10 Nios Sports O version offered by Hyundai Motors starts at Rs 7.72 lakh and the automatic version starts at Rs 8.29 lakh (both pre-showroom).
What’s new?
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sports (O) trim is the second in the Grand i10 Nios lineup, followed by the top-spec Esta trim. It gets a few features compared to the next best corporate trims.
In the exterior, the Grand i10 Nios Sports (O) has 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and chrome-equipped door handles. Additional features added in this trim include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, fully automatic climate control and smart keys with push button stop/start.
Mechanically, no changes have been made to the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. It is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Kappa petrol engine producing 82bhp and 114Nm of peak torque. The motor is paired with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The Nios also comes as CNG with a low output of 68 bhp and the use of the same engine with 95 Nm of torque. CNG variants are offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
