Volkswagen Tayron R-Line 2026 Launched – Premium 7-Seater SUV with AWD Power

Volkswagen Tayron R-Line – Let me tell you that a new name has been added to the premium SUV league Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. After several teasers and unveils, this full-size 7-seater SUV has finally been launched in India. Its initial EX-showroom price is ₹46.99 lakhs.

Actually it is a 3-row version of the Tiguan R-Line, but the longer wheelbase and more space make it more useful for larger families. Let us understand this new SUV closely.

Design

Tayron R-Line identifies differently from its design. The front features dual-pod LED projector headlamps, which are connected to a slim LED strip. Below this strip is a black applique with the ‘R’ logo, highlighting its sporty character.

Its bumpers are quite wide and have a diamond-shape patterned air dam. Front fog lamps are not found, but LED headlamps have a cornering function. The silver skid plate gives it a strong look with an SUV.

From the side, its long stance looks clean. 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, silver roof rails and silver finishes around the window make it a premium. A small ‘R’ logo has also been given below ORVM, which is often missed by sight.

Interior

Talking about the interior, it has a minimalistic dashboard design with dual-tone black and gray themes. This SUV comes in a 3-row, 7-seater layout, making it more practical than Tiguan for larger families. Second Row comes with a slide and recline function, which increases comfort and enhancement.

Soft-touch material and brushed-silver finish have been used extensively on the dashboard. The 3-spoke steering wheel and dual-display setup give it a modern look.

The same seats are provided with blue contrast stitching and refrigeration for ventilation. Also, gloss black trim and ambient lighting elements make the cabin special at night.

Features

Volkswagen has filled the Tayron R-Line with features. It offers a 15-inch large touchscreen infotainment system, which works with a 10.25-inch digital driver display and heads-up display.

Massage, heating and cooling function are provided in front seats. Facilities such as 3-zone climate control, dual wireless phone charger and 30-color customizable ambient lighting take it closer to the luxury SUV.

Engine

Now talk about its engine, the Tayron R-Line has a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine. This engine generates 204 PS power and 320 Nm torque. It gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox and all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Price

Let me tell you that it is priced at ₹46.99 lakhs (EX-showroom). It is contested by Toyota Fortuner, Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, MG Gloster and the upcoming MG Major.
