Engine

Talking about the engine first, the Kodiaq RS has the same fourth generation EA888 petrol engine as seen in the Octavia RS and Volkswagen Golf GTI, but its tuning is different. This 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine generates power of 261 hp and torque of 400 Nm.

The DQ381 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox is provided with this engine, which combines with an all-wheel drive system to provide great grip and fast acceleration. This SUV is not only powerful, but also technically advanced.

Speed and braking

Kodiaq RS is no slouch when it comes to speed. The five-seater version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, while the seven-seater version takes 6.4 seconds. Both versions have an electronically limited top speed of 231 km/h.

The braking system is as robust as its speed. Large 335×30 mm disc brakes at the front and 310×22 mm disc brakes at the rear provide reliable control even at high speeds.

Design

Skoda Kodiaq RS clearly shows that it’s no ordinary SUV. Sharp bumpers, exclusive 20-inch Elias alloy wheels, a sports exhaust with dual exposed tailpipes, and gloss black accents give it an aggressive look.

The international model comes with DCC Plus adaptive suspension, although it’s unclear whether the unit imported to India will feature this feature. Another difference is that unlike the Octavia RS, it doesn’t come with an electronic limited-slip differential.

Price

Octavia RS can be priced around Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom) as before. Being limited units, this car becomes not just a vehicle, but a collector item.

At the same time, the price of Kodiaq RS has not been officially revealed, but given the CBU import and RS badges, it will be placed in the premium segment itself.
