Global Reveal
In a recent YouTube video, Ola Kallenius himself almost featured the production-ready S-Class Facelift. The car was wrapped in an attractive camouflage, but despite this many important changes were seen clearly.
Kallenius reported that about 2,700 new components have been added to this facelift. According to Mercedes-Benz, this is the company’s most ambitious product update ever. That is, even if the changes are stark outside, the technology and experience inside the car will be at a completely new level.
2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift
Exterior design of the S-Class Facelift will not be completely new, but will be made more sharp and modern. The biggest change will be seen in its lighting signature.
New S-Class will feature dual three-pointed star shape DRLs inside every headlamp, which will recognize it immediately at night. Triple three-pointed star design will also be given in the tail-lights at the rear. This design is about to become the hallmark of upcoming Mercedes cars.
Front grill now looks bigger than before and will get an LED surround around it. The Illuminated Mercedes star on the bonnet also enhances this luxury feel. A star-studded pattern has also been seen on the grill under the camouflage, which makes the front look more dramatic.
Side and rear profile
Overall, the siluette of the S-Class is placed as before, so that its identity remains. However, new alloy wheel designs will be offered.
New LED taillights in the rear are connected to the light bar. Fox exhaust tips are also seen here, which some people may like and some do not. In terms of size, the new S-Class will be almost the same as the existing model.
Engine
2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift is expected to feature a 3.0-liter inline-six petrol engine. This will be accompanied by mild-hybrid technology, which will improve both smoothness and efficiency.

Interior and Features
The real magic of the S-Class has always been in its cabin, and this will be the biggest change in the facelift. The new S-Class will feature the latest version of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS).
Multi-way adjustment, heating, cooling and multi-stage massage functions are expected for rear seats. In addition, facilities such as four-zone climate control, rear-seat entertainment, powered sunshades and dual-pen panoramic sunroof will make this sedan a moving first-class lounge.
Launch Timeline
Mercedes-Benz has not yet revealed the official launch date, but by mid-2026 it can be launched in select Western markets. It is expected to arrive in India in Late 2026 or Early 2027.
The EX-showroom price of the current S-Class in India starts at around ₹1.78 crores. There may be a mild increase in price with a facelift. It will compete with BMW 7‑Series, Audi A8 and Lexus LS.
