Kia Carens Clavis: If you’re set to make the switch to an electric vehicle and prefer one that’s spacious, chic, and specifically engineered for Indian roads, you now have a brand-new choice. Kia has launched a 7-seater electric MPV that’s manufactured in India and crafted to turn heads with its appearance, amenities, and usability.
Carens Clavis EV
Kia India has brought its first locally made electric MPV, the Carens Clavis EV. Its base ex-showroom price is ₹17.99 lakh and the top trim is tagged at ₹24.49 lakh. Deliveries will start shortly. With this new launch, Kia is targeting to provide Indian families with a practical yet feature-laden electric vehicle.
Range Battery Options
The Carens Clavis EV is available with two battery pack options. The lower 42kWh battery gives a range of 404 km on a full charge. The bigger 51.4kWh battery, on the other hand, gives a claimed driving range of 490 km, which is one of the most promising EVs in the class.
Variants and Colour Options
This electric MPV comes in four trims: HTK+, HTX, HTX ER, and HTX+ ER. Buyers have six colours to choose from, namely Ivory Silver Matte, Aurora Black Pearl, Pewter Olive, Glacier White Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Gravity Grey. These trendy colours adorn the vehicle with a premium finish on the roads.
Performance
Kia boasts that the Carens Clavis EV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in only 8.4 seconds. That is speedy for a 7-seater EV, proving that it’s not only about room and comfort, but speed as well.
Exterior and Interior Features
The Clavis EV comes with a new front grille design, LED light bar, and aerodynamic alloy wheels. On the inside, it’s equipped with contemporary amenities such as two 12.3-inch screens, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, and a Bose audio system. These make the driving and passenger experience better.
Competition in the Segment
In India, the Carens Clavis EV will have competition from models such as the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV. But with its best-in-class range, high-end features, and roomy 7-seat configuration, it has the potential to be a formidable competitor for these models.
