Under the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) 1989, olive green is reserved exclusively for the Defense Department.

Why is Olive Green Banned

If you want to change your car’s color, you must go through a rigorous and legal process. First, obtain written permission from your local RTO. Only after receiving approval can you give your car a new, sturdy paint job. Once the paint job is complete, the vehicle must be taken back to the RTO so officials can inspect the color. After this, the new color is firmly updated on your RC. Remember, changing the color without updating the information on the RC can land you in serious legal trouble.
