The updated 3-door version of India’s most popular lifestyle SUV, the Mahindra Thar, is set to launch in India soon. Ahead of its launch, it has been spotted at a dealership yard. Following the Thar Roxx, Mahindra is now preparing to introduce this iconic SUV with new features and updates. Let’s take a closer look at what new features the 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-Door may have.

Exterior Updates for the 2025 Mahindra Thar

The 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-Door RWD remains largely unchanged. The SUV’s wheel design remains the same, shod with CEAT A/T tires. The most significant change is that Mahindra is now offering alloy wheels for the 5-door, which were previously discontinued. The front end design remains the same, with reflector headlights and fog lights.

At the rear, it now features a rear washer, wiper, and rear defogger, which are very useful in rain and fog. The SUV also features a reverse camera, similar to the Thar Roxx, making parking much easier. However, it’s not yet clear whether the SUV features rear disc brakes or an internally operated fuel filler cap.

Major Changes Inside the Cabin

The most significant changes to the 2025 Mahindra Thar 3-Door are in its interior. The SUV now features a new steering wheel and a 10.2-inch free-standing infotainment screen, borrowed from the Thar Roxx. It also features a wireless charging pad, a front armrest, revised door trims, power window switches, and soft-touch elements, giving the cabin a premium feel.

Missing Key Features

As expected, this SUV still lacks several features, such as ventilated seats, ADAS, auto-dimming IRVM, auto climate control, keyless go, push-button start, sunroof, TFT instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, and electronic parking brake. Mechanically, this SUV is likely to remain the same as the current 4WD version.

Why It’s the Best

The new 3-door version of the 2025 Mahindra Thar is a great option for those who enjoy the Thar’s rugged and powerful design but also want some modern features. With these updates, it has become more convenient and comfortable than before. If you’re looking for an SUV that offers excellent performance in cities as well as off-road terrain, the new Thar could be a great choice.
