Gopashtami 2025: October 30, 2025, the festival of Gopashtami will be celebrated. It is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the Kartik month. Lord Krishna began serving cows on this day, making it known as Gopashtami. Besides calves and cows, Lord Krishna is also worshipped on this day.

Mythological stories say that Govardhan Puja resulted in continuous rain for seven days, and then, on the Ashtami Tithi, Lord Indra accepted defeat. Therefore, Ashtami became known as Gopashtami. Remedies for Gopashtami

1. On Gopashtami, one should go to the temple during the auspicious time in the morning and bathe and adorn the calves.
2. Cows are decorated with flowers, kumkum, roli, and turmeric, and then circumambulated.
3. After circumambulating the cow, take the calves for a short walk.
4. When the cows return in the evening, they should be worshipped again.
5. On Gopashtami, cows should be fed green fodder and jaggery.
6. In the evening, one should go to the cowshed and offer Ganga water and flowers. After this, the cows’ aarti should be performed.
7. Donating food, dakshina, and some other items to the cowshed as per one’s capacity on this day is also considered very auspicious.
8. In Hinduism, the cow is considered sacred. That is why it is believed that worshipping the cow pleases all the gods and goddesses.
