Samsung is reportedly getting ready to, sort of, bring Google’s brand new Gemini Intelligence AI features over to its upcoming foldable phones, you know. As per fresh leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 could end up being the first devices to ship with advanced Gemini Intelligence integration, all running through One UI 9, somehow.

These foldables are expected to show up during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026. And, according to reports the company might lean pretty hard into AI-driven multitasking, automation instruments, and more aware app interactions this year

Gemini Intelligence Features Expected

Google recently showed Gemini Intelligence during The Android Show I/O Edition, where they kind of explained it as an AI system made to handle tasks across multiple apps and boost productivity on Android devices.

The leaks are hinting that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 might carry higher level AI goodies like smart app switching, AI powered task automation, real time voice help, plus upgraded multitasking ability.

So for example, someone could start a shopping list inside a notes app and have Gemini move the items over into the shopping app without any extra taps, like no manual back and forth. On top of that, the AI may assist with translations, planning stuff, photo refinishing, and voice based instructions.

Samsung Foldables Could Launch First

One more thing people are talking about is that Samsung’s foldable models may receive Gemini Intelligence before the Galaxy S26 series, and even ahead of the Google Pixel 10 lineup. The claim is that Samsung is already running tests of One UI 9 internally, and the AI bits are apparently included in those builds.

Samsung might also roll out more “Galaxy AI” tools aimed at output, gaming tuning, battery management, and overall foldable app experiences, all wrapped together in the One UI 9 experience.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 expected specs

So, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is reportedly due with a bigger 8-inch foldable panel that can hit 120Hz, plus the outer area could end up at about 6.5 inches give or take. For performance, it’s said to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, teamed with a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W fast charge.

At the same time, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is being talked about as having a 6.9-inch foldable display, and a more noticeable 4.1-inch cover screen too. This phone might lean on Samsung’s Exynos 2600 processor and it may come with a 4,300mAh battery , nothing wildly different but still a reasonable bump.

Both models are also expected to boot with Android 16-based One UI 9 straight out of the box, so yeah same software road, but in different shapes.

AI could become the real main focus

One of the bigger moments at the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event might be Samsung really pushing AI powered smartphones, like, not just “some features here and there” but a stronger emphasis. On top of foldables, there are also whispers that Samsung could show off smart glasses for augmented reality, plus Gemini powered features.

With Gemini Intelligence, One UI 9, and what’s being described as next generation foldable hardware expected around the same time, Samsung may end up positioning the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 as some of the more advanced AI driven smartphones you can actually get in 2026, in other words it’s meant to feel like the centerpiece.
