Monsoon Alert – Very Heavy Rain Alert in 12 States over next 24 Hours, Complete State-Wise Forecast

Monsoon Alert: The monsoon is poised to make its entry into the Andaman Sea and parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Over the next 4–5 days, the eastern states—such as Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha—face the threat of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Northwest India will remain under the grip of a heatwave.

Monsoon Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh bulletin stating that scattered heavy rainfall is likely in Northeast India this week, and in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Kerala & Mahe over the next 4-5 days. According to the Weather Department, the monsoon is expected to advance into parts of the South Bay of Bengal, the Andaman Sea, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands around May 16, 2026.

On the other hand, an alert has been issued for Northwest and Central India regarding heatwaves and severe heat conditions during this week. So, let’s find out what the weather forecast looks like across various states of the country—from Delhi, Bihar, UP, and Rajasthan to others.

Jharkhand Weather

The Weather Department predicts that strong winds, blowing at speeds of 40-50 km/h, are likely in the region on May 15 and 16. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is expected.

Bihar Weather

In Bihar, strong winds reaching speeds of up to 70 km/h may occur on May 16 and 20. Furthermore, light to moderate rainfall is likely across a wide area during this period.

Punjab and Haryana Weather

According to the Weather Department, scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Punjab and Haryana on May 15. Additionally, an alert has been issued regarding lightning and strong winds.

Arunachal Pradesh Weather

An alert has been issued for heavy rainfall and lightning through May 16. Heavy rainfall may also occur on May 18.

Assam and Meghalaya Weather

An alert has been issued for Assam and Meghalaya, anticipating heavy rainfall in certain areas on May 15–17, and again on May 19 and 20.

Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram Weather

The Weather Department indicates that heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas across Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram between May 17 and 20

 

Karnataka Weather

Hailstorms are forecast for Interior Karnataka tomorrow, May 15. Heavy rainfall is likely in South Interior Karnataka from May 15 to May 17.

Kerala and Tamil Nadu Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, spells of heavy rainfall will continue at isolated locations across Kerala, Mahe, and Tamil Nadu until May 19.

Rajasthan Weather

A severe heatwave alert has been issued for Western Rajasthan between May 17 and May 19. Temperatures could also rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius.

Uttar Pradesh:

Heatwave conditions are likely in Western and Eastern UP from May 14 to May 20.

Will these states experience severe heat?

– An alert has been issued for certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi in view of severe heat conditions expected between May 16 and May 20. Heatwaves may also occur in these three regions during the afternoon hours.

– A severe heat alert has been issued for Western Uttar Pradesh from May 15 to May 17, and for Eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 17 and May 20.

– Heatwave conditions are likely in Western Rajasthan on May 16 and May 20, and in Eastern Rajasthan from May 17 to May 20.

– Heatwave conditions may persist at isolated locations in Western Uttar Pradesh from May 18 to May 20, and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh on May 18 and May 19.
