PAN 2.0 Upgrade: If you’re a PAN card holder, this news could be essential for you. The Income Tax Department has introduced PAN Card 2.0 to enhance the PAN card system further. This system aims to improve security and simplify the entire system. The system also features a scannable QR code, allowing for faster authentication and reducing the risk of PAN card fraud or misuse.

The digital version of this e-PAN is offered free of charge and can be received via email. The physical PAN card arrives at your address after a nominal fee. However, if you already have a regular PAN card that doesn’t have a QR code, it’s still fully valid, meaning it doesn’t need to be updated.

Who issues PAN 2.0 or e-PAN?

To do this, you first need to identify the agency that issued your PAN card. PAN services are provided by two authorised agencies in the country. NSDL is the first, while UTIITSL is the second. You need to check the back of your PAN card to determine which agency issued your PAN card. You can apply accordingly.

How to apply for a PAN 2.0 card from NSDL?

First, visit the NSDL’s reprint website.

After this, enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and date of birth.

Accept the declarations and click on the submit option.

Next, verify the entered PAN details and select either mobile or email to receive the OTP.

You will receive an OTP, enter it, and verify it within 10 minutes.
